Concerto Koln "Bach and the Concerto di Camera in Italy and France"
Concerto Koln was founded in 1985 by musicians dedicated to presenting period performances of the music of the 18th and early 19th centuries. Usually performing without a conductor, each member of the ensemble participates in shaping the character of the performance. They have 50 recording to their credit, many of them award winners. Collaborators have included Cecilia Bartoli, Andreas Scholl, Rene Jacobs, and Andreas Staier. Their program,  "Bach and the Concerto di Camera in Italy and France," including music by Sammartini, Vivaldi, Dauvergne, and the fourth and fifth Brandenburg Concerti of J.S. Bach, will be performed by the 13-member ensemble in the superbly live acoustics of the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall.
